Declarations for a Christian Soldier

I am a Christian Soldier. I am a devout warrior, in close relationship with our Heavenly Father. I am ready and willing for my assignments, whether large or small. As part of the Body of Christ- my aim and focus is to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

I endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. As a faithful warrior, I do not entangle myself with the affairs of this life, so that I may please Him who hath chosen me to be a soldier.
I place myself under authority, because I recognize that all authority comes from God. I also faithfully lead any soldiers that are placed under me. I choose to serve others and live the Christian values.

I will always place the Heavenly missions first- recognizing that we are called to pick up our cross daily. We are also called to occupy, living out the promise of “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done.” I will never accept defeat, maintaining a thankful heart unto God, because He always causes us to triumph in Christ. As I trust in Him, He will not let my enemies triumph over me.
I will never quit, because I am called to fight a good fight, to finish the course, and keep the faith. I will never leave a fallen comrade, because I willingly give of my life- even as Christ gave His life for me.

I am disciplined, physically and mentally, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills- because I know I am called to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.
I understand and faithfully use the weapons of my warfare - including prayer and fasting, praise, the sword of His word, and the power of His blood. I faithfully put on the armour of God, abide in His Spirit of might, and yield to His authority.

I am an expert and I am a professional because I abide in Him, trusting He will do exceedingly
abundantly more than I could ever ask or hope for. I am ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemy - recognizing that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

In any warfare, I know that He is above all principality and power, and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. And He has put all things under His feet.

I am a guardian of freedom, sent by Jesus Christ, our everlasting soldier- to preach the power of the gospel, testify of His eternal love, and set the captives free -even to the ends of the earth. For this I know - the truth will set them free.

  I am a Christian soldier.

A Soldier

A Soldier does not bow to worry or fear

The voice of victory rings in his ears

With each step , new ground he will take

His courage and strength will make the enemy shake

He will leave behind friends and family too ,

Yet he marches toward the future - what he is called to do

His life will change, it will become new

As he learns loyalty , faith , and integrity too

He leaves behind childhood , and stands tall as a man

He will discover a life of purpose and plan .

He is sent forth with much prayer and love

And His Heavenly Father will guard him from above

He knows that his Savior is a whispered prayer away -

A friend who speaks to his heart - and will never go away

Yes , a Soldier does not bow to worry or fear

It's wisdom and encouragement this man will hear

--- Go forth son , your Heavenly Father marches before you !

he returned home from Iraq safely 7/2008)
